The inspiration to design this Western Toile came from living in France, where toile designs began in the 1880s, and travels to India, where centuries-old woodblock printing influenced French toile. Kennedy collaborated with the Jackson Hole Historical Museum in referencing archival photos to create a Vintage Jackson Hole Toile design featuring the story of Jackson Hole with six iconic and dated historical scenes:

  • 1810, Native Americans in the Valley, Elk & Snake River,

  • 1872, Yellowstone National Park with Old Faithful, Moose, Camping & Constellations,

  • 1894, Howdy Welcome Sign & establishment of the town,

  • 1911, The Jackson Hole Frontier Rodeo,

  • 1913, Moulton Barn Homestead, Tetons & state animal Bison,

  • 1916, The Jackson Hole Playhouse building

This original toile design is hand-illustrated in pen-and-ink and captures the charm, history and spirit of the west. These toile gifts are more than just souvenirs, they are cultural keepsakes in ‘Gifting History’!
