STORM TO SANCTUARY KITCHEN
WINNER— UNIVERSAL DESIGN
WINNER— INDIVIDUAL IMPACT AWARD
When Hurricane Ian collapsed the roof of this 1983 Florida kitchen, devastation became a chance for renewal. Responding with sensitivity for this elderly client, the designer saw an opportunity not just to rebuild, but to create an airy, coastal-inspired, eat-in kitchen that would allow her to age in place. A dangerous level change was eliminated, walls removed for wider passage, ceilings elevated, and soft integrated LED lighting now floods the space with light and life. Every detail—from relocated appliances and a new pantry to seated quartz counters and slip-resistant flooring—was selected to support her independence. Ocean-blue cabinetry, shimmering chevron glass tile, and coastal accents celebrate her love for the sea. From storm to sanctuary, this kitchen is now the joyful heart of her home.

SECRET GARDEN GETAWAY
BEST BEDROOM, RUNNER UP
In this daring guest retreat, the designer embraced dopamine décor, boldly transforming a once boring-beige room into a secret garden getaway. The ceiling, often overlooked, becomes a breathtaking focal point — an immersive canopy of oversized, textural palms, edged in vibrant green — activates neurotransmitters that awaken the senses, hush stress, and elevate mood, while seamlessly connecting to the lush Floridian landscape outside. High-gloss soft white walls amplify daylight and infuse freshness. A bespoke Murphy wall cleverly conceals a queen-sized bed, effortlessly converting the space into a micro-gym retreat. Layers of rich green velvet, warm wood tones, and botanical accents deepen biophilic bliss, where guests awaken refreshed beneath a canopy of nature-inspired serenity.

HERO HAVEN
BEST OFFICE, RUNNER UP
Designed as a sanctuary for a Marine Veteran, this home office offers a private refuge for confidential calls and deep restoration. A custom Murphy wall unit answers multiple missions: TV console, whiskey bar, cigar humidor, mini-library, guest bed, and generous storage. Luxe-depth saddle leather sofa serves as client’s preferred work space. A focal ‘Studs & Stripes’ wall covering showcases platoon paddles and deployment stars, forming a powerful American flag art installation— honoring service and sacrifice. Rich layers of saddle leather, weathered woods, honed stone, and greenery ground the space in nature, creating a calming cadence. This hero’s haven is where duty meets design, and valor finds peace.
