Interior Design Society ‘Designer of the Year’ Best Living Room, 2022

WINNER— BEST LIVING ROOM

This open plan Great Room, aptly named The Observatory, for its incredible 180-degree views of the Tetons, changing seasons in the valley below, migrating wildlife, and sunsets over the mountain range.  The living area is grounded with a black leathered granite hearth and sealed wood-burning fireplace with wood storage.  A large sofa anchors the area and serves as observatory seating for the incredible mountain views. Organic sun-bleached wood slices adorn the coffee table, offering a biophilic moment.  In the corner, a playful swing perfectly frames a mountain vignette with custom floor insert noting key mountains. Heated floors with wire-brushed walnut planks add comfort during the winter months. The great room and kitchen are tied together by a central shuffleboard that acts as both social hub for play, as well as converting to a table-for-twelve for family meals and game night.

WINNER— BEST BEDROOM

Focal Sable Island horse artwork, custom barn doors, and soft neutral palette create calm in this equine-inspired Primary Bedroom. Horses have been used for therapeutic purposes since ancient Greek times and help connect to nature, reduce anxiety, and promote calm. Faux hide wallcovering grounds the space which has full height triple-pane glazing on two sides. Highlight of the space is witnessing migrating wildlife during the day and star gazing at night, all from bed.
